Rice men’s cross country placed seventh at the NCAA South Central Regional Friday morning in College Station at the Watts Cross Country Course.

The Rice Owls men’s cross country team placed third overall at Saturday’s Conference USA Championships, hosted by Southern Miss at the Choctaw Trails, the team’s highest finish since the 2013 season.

The Rice men’s and women’s cross country teams will be vying for a league title this Saturday, Oct. 28 at the 2017 Conference USA Championships, which will be hosted by Southern Miss.

Competing against some of the nation's best, the Rice Owls men's cross country team placed 36th overall (126 points) in the Men's Red 8k race Saturday morning at the Pre Nationals meet, hosted by Louisville.

While a majority of the men's cross country squad will be competing at Saturday's Pre-Nationals in Louisville, a handful of Owls ran at the HBU Invitational Friday evening in Sugar Land.
