Rice's men's cross country team won the Rice Invitational Meet, placing ahead of rivals such as Texas A&M, Houston and TCU. John Cavallo led the Owls with a fourth place finish.

Gabe Cuadra, Austin Ramljak, and Kylee Talwar were named Conference USA Scholar-Athlete award winners for the 2012-13 school year, marking them as the top Scholar-Athlete in men's cross country, men's basketball and women's swimming, respectively.

Despite heavy rains late in the week, the spirits of the 100th graduating class of Rice University could not be dampened, which included 90 student-athletes.

Rice's men's cross country squad was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic team, the association announced Monday. The Owls had a team GPA of 3.467.
